THE OLD GUY IS P.O.’ED !
Sense is no longer common, good judgment has become, just judgment. We are under a MISS attack- Miss-stakes, miss-understanding, miss-communication, miss-appropriation and miss-placed blame. We miss-cues, miss-opportunities, miss-identify and miss-manage.
A once common catch phrase “You’ve come a long ways Baby” is a misnomer- we have retreated, to a nation of angry snarling beasts, ready, willing and quite able to pounce on and destroy or at least maim anyone or anything we do not agree with. Worse yet, most do not even know what they believe. The following quote from the Dalai Lama
The Paradox of our Age:
We have bigger houses but smaller families;
more conveniences, but less time;
we have more degrees, but less sense;
more knowledge, but less judgment;
...more experts, but more problems;
more medicines, but less healthiness;
We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet the new neighbor.
We built more computers to hold more information to produce more copies than ever, but have less communication;
We have become long on quantity, but short on quality.
These are times of fast foods, but slow digestion;
Tall men, but short character;
Steep profits, but shallow relationships.
It's a time when there is much in the window, but nothing in the room."
--The 14th Dalai Lama

In the 60 + years since I can really recall any of kind real "memory" -we have gone from watching small flickering B and W images in an appliance store windows to screens larger than my living room. From communicating on devices attached to the wall or in upright rectangles on street corners to "phones'
We see a story on TV or in the press and most of us immediately think the worst, why, because we want to, why does the media give us only bits and pieces, so we will come back for the dirty details. Horror movies make the most money of any genera, books and papers which depict the baser human experience out sell all others.
The recent Tragedy in Tucson
IT AIN'T ABOUT YOU ALL, AT ALL. WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
Folks- Wake-up, stand-up, step-up and speak-up.
it has been said that it is better to be peed off than peed on.
Friends both are happening to us.
Very well worded. You are indeed a man of much wisdom. If people could simply learn to use the convenience of technology to allow them to do more rather than just be lazy, our society in general could continue on the progressive path our forefathers set for us.
