Christmas and Kids II

        This is the second part of what kids really want for Christmas and all year, consistency in treatment and discipline are principle to successful child rearing. Kids want to be LOVED but since love can be very abstract and demonstrated in many ways if all of us can “do the don’ts “. Remember they are the ones who will build, staff and pick out  our nursing homes.
Add the following don’ts to your list.

Don’t expect me to understand everything you say, I am just a child.
Don’t make rash promises, don’t promise if you can’t come through.
Don’t tax my honesty too much, I can easily be frightened in to lying.
Don’t tell me my fears are silly, their real to me, just reassure me.
Don’t put me off when I ask questions, I will find the answer from someone.
Don’t tell me your perfect, it causes me to doubt you when I find you are not.
Don’t think it is beneath you to apologize when your wrong, it helps me respect you.
Don’t forget how fast I am growing, try to keep up.
Don’t forget there some things I must do on my own.

    With out a doubt there are some people who should never have children many who don’t want them and many who change their minds after they get them. Many couples who cannot have them want them.
They are not pets, nor possessions, they have rights for which we are responsible.
    We hear often of children who are abused by those who are tasked with caring for them, while these people have no excuse for their behavior many of them are damaged good themselves who were not raised by people who read or cared about these DON’TS.
