"When I was a child.....

When I was a child, I wanted to be A Missionary, Doctor, Archeologist all combined. It was a noble calling and I was convinced I could accomplish that goal. I wanted to share the Gospel, Help the sick, and learn about Man’s past.
Today I try to witness for Christ in word and deed, just retired from the medical field as a Cardiac Technologist and am an avid History buff. Having not met my expected goals, set when I was a child, Did I fail? 1 Corinthians 13:11
From Child to Senior Citizen, I have been a Soldier, Salesman, Firefighter, EMT, Nurse, Business Owner, Laborer, Student, Teacher, Chef, Waiter, Writer and Renegade, I have been in the Newspaper, on TV and Radio. I have traveled to numerous foreign countries and most of the fifty states.
I have stood relatively high on the social and economic ladder and found that no matter how far you fall it hurts and can be deadly, (you can trip on a rug, fall, fracture your skull and die) As the old joke says “It ain’t the fall that hurts, it’s the landing that gets ya”. In the words of Charlie Daniels “I was so far down I had to look up to see the ground”.
As people WE often look at people and are critical of what WE think they are and where WE think they are at, socially, mentally, emotionally and even spiritually, Shame on us! John 7:24 , Matthew 7:1 and 2
As Christians we need to remember, Adam’s great beginnings, Cain’s opportunities,
Jacob the fraud, Moses the Prince, David, a small Sheppard, Peter, a plain fisherman, Paul an accessory to murder and countless others whose end didn’t end where their beginning began,
Don’t get stuck where you are and most certainly don’t get stuck in the past. “Standing on the Promises “ is wonderful , but the real work of the Church is outside the doors. Stop being a spiritual hypochondriac, It ain’t all bad.
Wake up, sit up, get up, step up, look up, own up and wise up.
Just being in Church doesn’t make you a Christian any more than being in a garage makes you a car.
